Start with your content

• Text: paste writing, open TXT, DOCX or a selectable-text PDF, or scan a paper page and correct its transcription.
• Images: inspect JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF pixels, metadata and available Content Credentials.
• Websites: review one public page’s visible text and declared metadata.
• Audio: inspect WAV, MP3 and M4A recordings.
• Video: inspect MP4 and WebM files.

Each tool displays its file limits before you start. Reports can be downloaded as readable text or JSON, or printed to PDF using your browser.

Can it tell me whether AI was used?

The optional GPTZero text scan provides a separate AI classification after explicit consent. Our local text tool can flag a researched combination of AI-consistent writing patterns in supported long-form writing. That is a screening finding, not proof. Short or unsupported writing still receives descriptive observations. The image, audio and video tools currently report technical evidence; they do not run a validated AI-origin classifier.

Missing patterns or metadata do not prove human creation. See our methodology and known limitations before relying on a report. Independent review is necessary for decisions affecting students, employees, or legal rights.

What happens to my content?

Local review processes text and local files in your browser. If you separately choose the optional GPTZero scan, the current editor text is sent through our server to GPTZero. That scan does not authorize research storage or training. Website review sends the URL for bounded retrieval. Optional research sharing requires your consent and previews the measurements being shared; your original text and media are not included in that contribution. Separate volunteer studies have their own consent process.

Research and availability

The public beta is available now. Research registration documents a study plan; it is not a certification of product accuracy or an institutional endorsement. Capabilities and limitations are published with each tool. Optional contributions help us investigate errors and evaluate future improvements.
