Your material is not our dataset.

CouldItBe is designed to minimize collection. Browser-local analyzers do not upload or retain the text, image, audio, or video you choose.

Effective date: August 17, 2026

Text and local files

Pasted text and selected TXT, DOCX, PDF, image, audio, and video files are processed in browser memory. They are not sent to CouldItBe, an external model, analytics, or advertising services. Clear, replacement, navigation, or reload discards the active material.

Public URLs

The URL tool sends the public address—not account credentials—to CouldItBe for one bounded retrieval. The retrieved page is measured transiently and discarded. Reports contain derived measurements, not the fetched page text or submitted URL. Do not submit authenticated, private, personalized, or sensitive addresses.

Optional research contributions

After a result is complete, you may separately opt in to contribute only displayed derived measurements, a purpose, and an unverified source label. Source text, media, filenames, submitted URLs, and account data are not stored in these research records. Live records expire after 90 days, and the one-time deletion code can remove a record sooner.

For URL results, a second unchecked choice may retain a secret-keyed URL history value for up to 30 days. The URL itself is not retained. Self-declared contributions help identify counterexamples and research questions; they are not treated as verified ground truth.

Optional writing studies

The matched writing study runs in browser memory and creates a ZIP only when the participant requests it. CouldItBe does not automatically receive that package. A participant who chooses to deliver it to the research owner should review the included privacy README first.

Content-free feedback

Feedback is optional and accepts fixed choices only. It does not accept source material, filenames, URLs, free-form comments, or account data.

Network and service data

Like most websites, the hosting and security provider may process limited connection data such as an IP address, request time, browser information, and requested route to deliver and protect the service. CouldItBe does not add behavioral analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking to the public beta.

Exports

Print, JSON, and research-package exports happen only after you explicitly request them. Privacy-safe analyzer JSON excludes source text, passage content, filenames, paths, source media, hidden identifiers, and telemetry.

Children and sensitive material

The voluntary matched writing study is limited to adults. Do not submit confidential, regulated, personally identifying, or sensitive material to the URL tool or optional research workflows.

Changes and questions

Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Privacy questions or deletion requests for eligible contributed records can be submitted through the content-free feedback page; include no source material or sensitive information.

What remains outside this beta

CouldItBe provides no user accounts, cloud document storage, advertising, behavioral analytics, external AI inference, or sale of submitted material.
